
Stevland Hardaway Morris (ne Judkins; May 13 1950) popularly referred to as Stevie Wonder, is an American singer-songwriter. He is considered to be a pioneer and influence by musicians across a range of genres that include blues and rhythm, pop soul, gospel, jazz, and funk. A virtual one-man-band, Wonder's use for synthesizers and other electronic instruments in the 1970s changed the rules of R&B. Wonder also contributed to the push of these genres into the album era and made his LPs solid and coherent, in addition to thematically conscious and complex compositions. Wonder was born blind shortly after his birth was signed at Motown's Tamla label when he was just 11. In the Tamla label, he was awarded the official title Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's popularity with critics reached its peak in the 1970s. His "classic period" which began in 1972 was the time of release of Music of My Mind. Talking Book featured "Superstition" which is one of the most renowned and distinctive sounds recorded by the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. The Grammy Award for Album of the Years was awarded to Innervisions (1973) and Fulfillingness's First Finale (1974), as well as Songs in the Key of Life (1976). He is third in the list of with the most Album of the YEAR wins. Wonder is the only artist to be awarded the award for Album of the Year for three consecutive albums. Wonder was classified as a "commercial artist" before he started to hit his best songs in the early 1980s. His popularity grew with increased album sales, involvement in charities, and prominent collaborations.
